Well, it was kind of groundbreaking for its time, but it is also one of those books where at least some characters end up being "punished" for being gay (politically speaking) in a sense that one could argue is out-dated... (not that those things never happen, just that art shouldn't invariably portray them happening),

I thought it was a sweet lovestory though. I read it about 15 years ago and it meant a lot to my teenager self.
