I stressed my brain to think of a gift for someone and came up with a marvelous one that will serve two purposes. I've ordered the following two 9x12 glossy prints from AdoramaPix:

Grand Central Terminal Main Concourse

Grand Central Terminal 42nd St. Passage

When I get the prints next week, I will use archival-quality photo corners and hanging tape to mount them on black mats (to stand out against the recipient's white walls), attach hangers to the back, and ship them. I recently discovered how wonderful my photos look matted and can hardly wait to see how these two will look. This is also a chance for me to assess Adorama's print quality. I have heard good things about them, so this is my chance to see for myself. If I like them, I will use them whenever I need prints for my Etsy shoppe.

Why is the flag sideways? I remember in ep 2 of Ronin Warriors, it showed a building in the background - I think of the American embassy - and the flag was sideways.

The flag is hanging from the ceiling of the main concourse, with the union (blue field of white stars) facing north (http://grandcentralterminal.com/info/navigatingGCT.cfm). This is in accordance with United States Code: Title 4, Chapter 1, Section 7. (http://www.ushistory.org/BETSY/flagcode.htm)

Thank you! I may need to display a set of those prints in my home, as well. I'm excited to see how they come out!

When someone sets up a new account with AdoramaPix (which is FREE!) they get 25 free prints. Many people use these free 4x6s to order some prints on all the different paper types. We recommend that you print something that you have already seen in print, that way you can compare.

The only paper type we don't offer in a 4x6 size is the Silk, but if you'd like to email me with your mailing address, I can pass it along and see that you get some samples.

Generally, the silk paper is very well suited for any kind of portraits, esp. formal portraits like wedding shots. It delivers lovely skin tones and has a very delicate texture to it. It's more matte than our Lustre paper. The Kodak Endura Supra Lustre has a slight sheen to it, not as much as the Metallic or Glossy, but it's a good all around paper, a very fine surface texture and closest to "semi-gloss."

The Supra Matt(TM) has nice rich blacks and good detail with no texture to the finish. It all depends on your subject matter, and personal preference.

If there is anything else I can help you with, please do let me know.

Sincerely
