Ohh, that's lovely! I haven't been to Longwood in years, and I've only ever seen it in summer. Looks like you had a perfect day to take pictures.

The day was crisp and cool without being cold. It was, as you say, perfect. I took over 200 photos, and I look forward to posting more of them as I sort them. From the brief glances I've taken of the thumbnails, I have some real gems.

That's gorgeous! Fall is my favorite season, and while it's cooling off here, the cactuses (cacti?) don't burst with color. That looks more like what I'm used to, and makes me feel a little closer to home.

There is nothing as pretty as the colors of autumn taken on a sunny, cool day. Unless, of course, it's a misty, foggy day in autumn. I love those too. Well, actually, I love the colors of autumn any way I can get them.

Love this pic. It's gorgeous.

That is lovely. I'm trying to figure out why I'm not quite comfy looking at it -- I think it's the swath of shadow on the right. My eye goes from that perfect green tree on the left, across the gorgeous colours, and gets hung up on that shadow with no place else to go. Which is not a bad effect, it stands out as more than just a pretty-but-boring picture this way.

Yes, that discontinuity with the shadow takes something away from the photo...or adds something, depending on how one looks at it. I don't know if I'd like it better, without the shadow. Would my eye be overwhelmed by all of the color? Is the shadow a relief of a hindrance? There is no one, right answer.

*dies from vivid autumn colors*

Damn, I wish I lived somewhere where autumn exists.

So nice, dear.

That is simply a beauty of a photo and of a garden. THIS should be a notecard!

Absolutely stunning. It looks like it should be on the front cover of a coffee table book about nature.
