Snapshots From Our Day
Mar. 22nd, 2009 02:31 pmThough yesterday was brisk, T and I wanted to get out of the house. In the early afternoon we packed our knapsacks and hit the sunny streets in search of the bus to take us to a local shopping center.
T worked on a Sudoku puzzle while we waited for the bus.

Don't look at me in that tone of voice!
Across the street, the local car wash did a brisk business. At times there were 6-8 cars lined up down the block!

We took a short ride across town on an uncrowded bus.

Our first stop was Michael's, where T bought herself a set of art pencils she'd had her eye on for months. We were going to to see "Watchmen" this weekend, but I encouraged T to use her money to buy those pencils. She had worked very hard for months to get her budget balanced, and now she has a budget surplus each week. She deserved a reward!
After Michael's we stopped in Sports Authority to look at fishing rods, camping gear, basketballs, and baseball gloves!

I paid $23 for an authentic Mets "away" jersey that was usually $80! Go, shopping-fu!
From Sports Authority, we stopped in Home Depot to plan our balcony garden; we are going to grow herbs and veggies. Then we settled down in a local cafe for snacks.

T studied.

I knitted.
We were there for a few hours, and by the time we got home after 9, I was well and truly worn out. It looks like we'll be in all day today. Neither of us are rushing to get out the door, though in theory it would be nice to get out of the house, again. :-)
