More Powerful Than the Gates of Hell

The verse inscribed on the cornerstone is part of Matthew 16:18, from the Bible. "Upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell will not prevail against it." Perhaps not, but nature has certainly prevailed by the year 2009.

Its such a shame to see a town like that fall to ruin, and with such a historic name. Here, some of those towns get discovered by artists looking for cheap housing and are saved, becoming tourist attractions with galleries and such. It would be nice to see that happen in Pochontas.

There are people who are trying to bring tourism to the area via the ATV market. That would definitely bring business to the area and revitalize it.

I think those are All-Terrain Vehicles. It's a specially-built jeep for off-road adventures.

Think dirt bikes with four wheels. :-)
