Know Your Audience

One of our group photographers, a Yankees fan, often has a class say, "Yankees!" just before he snaps their photo. Most of the schools we have worked at have been in Brooklyn, so his instructions are met with great enthusiasm.

Yesterday we worked together, and he made the same request to the first few classes. To his surprise, half the class responded well, while the rest of the class frowned and grumbled. After a couple of times of that, he realized the problem and changed his tactic.

We were in Queens, just a few miles from the Mets' stadium. :-)

Um. Yeah. Oops. He can't use football teams; I'm trying to think of something sport-neutral but New-York-centric that will get a smile out of people. "Say Fay Wray" just isn't going to do it for the crowd you're working with. *grin*
