I was going through my photos tonight, and I found a perfect candidate for a fine art print amongst my shots from Longwood Gardens. I've put it up for sale on Fotki.
I've been researching the legal ramifications of selling images as desktop backgrounds, and as much as I agree with you about this one, it will be better if I don't sell that one. I have submitted it to a stock photography agency, and I think anyone who purchases the image (for example, to use in an ad campaign) would be quite pissed if someone bought a lower-res version for much less, doctored it up, and used it in their own ad campaign.
You've given me a good idea, though: I will look for images that would make good desktop backgrounds and sell those for around $0.75 each. I won't submit those images to stock photography agencies or sell them as fine art prints.
