Believing In My Own Creativity
Mar. 21st, 2010 02:26 pmThe more I make photos, and the more I see my personal style emerge from the collection of generic photography tips I continue to pick up here and there, the more I believe in my photographer's eye. This is exciting on a couple of levels. Of course there is the excitement of seeing how I'm growing out of a mere shutter-bug and into a photographer. But the main thing is the excitement of watching me learn to believe in my creative ability.
Decades ago, I did not think I was all that creative, at least not in ways that deserved my own respect. But now I am beginning to genuinely enjoy my unique view of the world, as captured through my photography. It makes me want to do more just for the joy of doing it.

I've finished sorting my 1400+ photos from the St. Patrick's Day Parade. I'm down to 120+. Now comes the editing and further sorting until I come up with a manageable online gallery of images. This is going to take a while, but it will be fun.

I'm experiencing similiar feelings about writing.
It's a wonderfully expansive feeling isn't it? :-)

Date: 2010-03-22 11:51 am (UTC)That business of sorting photos, oi very, I have some sense of that pain! One of these days I'm going to give myself a few days off to finally get a more officially online gallery set up. Gah, not until the summer though...
