Me, Cradling Mikey After His Last Bath
T made this photo with her Blackberry on 11 April 2010. Mikey-cat was quite content to remain wrapped up in those towels as I cradled him in my arms. He peacefully died in his sleep the next day (this morning) aged 17 years, 11 days. We'd been together since he was 8 weeks old.

I'm really sorry. For as many cats as we've had, I've never had one live as long as 17 years (although I've got a couple of 14-year-olds still doing well). I'm glad you two could share such a special last moment together.
