T awoke to find me standing over her and grinning. "I'm a big girl," I announced. "I moved the bike."

"No, you didn't," she replied in disbelief.

But I had. Today was alternate side parking, and the motorcycle needed to be moved to the opposite side of the street before noon. T was sleeping late, and I needed to go out to move my car, anyway. So after I moved my own car, I rode the motorcycle around the block and parked it on the opposite side. And I didn't even stall once.

*sticks out chest and struts*

In other motorcycle news, my silver motorcycle jacket arrived, today. It fits like a charm. No more borrowing T's too-big jacket to ride and fighting with armor that doesn't quite fit my frame.

All I need, now, is my own cruiser!

Great jacket! Maybe you can get some road time in this weekend. I hear it's going to be lovely.

I'm hoping to do that tomorrow. It may rain on Sunday, but today was great for riding--we went out for a couple of hours this afternoon--and tomorrow ought to be, too.

I love these updates and honestly, if I'm ever near NY again, we are going out for something yummy to eat, you, me and T. I'd never forgive myself if we didn't.

*hug*

P.S. That link is AWESOME and so is that jacket. I'm looking to get re-certified on a motorcycle this summer. I lost my motorcycle tag on my license when I lived in Germany - the European license wouldn't allow it and they *TOOK* my Florida license away that had it so when I came back to the States, I had no way of proving I had it before. *is sad*

I'd like that! *hugs back*

BOOOO on them taking your FL license. Do you have a bike, already?

I had a bike years ago. I rebuilt a Harley panhead. I'm thinking of getting another one but it will depend on how long we're staying in the States. As it is, I pay to ship my Mini Cooper when we move to and from overseas. If the Army will ship it on their dime, I'll get another one in a heart beat - just something I have to research.

When we came in from a ride this evening, a neighbor said he noticed the bike earlier in the day and wondered if T would move it in time to avoid a ticket. "I am glad you got there in time," he said to her. I piped up, "No, *I* moved the bike!" He congratulated me on getting my license and graduating from a bicycle. :-)

The contradiction in this post just is too adorable for words - motorcycles (scary! at least, to me! Beautiful machines, yes, but big scary ones!) and super cuteness. :)

One of my favorite tee shirts says, "I am the cute one!" on the front. :-)

Thank you! I did it again, yesterday. This time I stalled when I stopped at a stop sign on a hill, but I didn't freak out or drop the bike. I took my time and was able to get going with no fuss. Next time I get out there (later this week, I hope), I am going right back to that hill to try it, again!

takes guts

That is big. Especially without stalling. When I had my bike, I could only go a mile at a time without stopping because I was shaking so badly.

So far I haven't worked up the courage to do more than go around the block, but that's good enough. When I feel comfortable doing that, I'll go a few blocks further. There's no rush.

I would find going a City block more daunting than a country mile, especially if there are lights involved. But so empowering!
