With my bifocals and peripheral vision, I have two focal lengths too many to feel confident on a bicycle anymore. I'm also aware that a fall causes more damage than when I was younger and lighter.
Two friends of ours have a Harley-Davidson trike, and the big luggage box on the back has been turned into Jake's seat. Jake is their black-and-tan Dachsund, and he gets in that box and rides! They've got air vents cut into it and a little hole that he can stick his head out of when he wants. The box is lined with wool bedding, so it's comfy and keeps him warm from the NZ winds. And Jake LOVES it! :-)
