Single Tenor Steelpan

My love for the steelpan family of instruments is surpassed only by my love for the violin and its relatives, and just barely. No other sound compares to the voice of a well-constructed, finely-tuned steelpan. I'm lucky enough to own one, which I play for my own pleasure.

In this closeup Belle's sticks frame the name of her "daddy". I sent him a 4"x6" print of that one.

It's so neat that you play the steel drum. A steel drum's voice is hypnotic, lilting, and somehow playful, like a good summer rain. I enjoyed these pictures.
