What My Eyes See
Feb. 13th, 2010 10:38 pmI am analyzing the lighting and composition of photos that recently caught my eye. I've pasted the photos in my photography journal and scribbled notes about light ratios and what works and does not work in each photo.

Seen here: photos by Tommy Ton of Tavi Gevinson for Paris Vogue, and the cover shot from Sade's "Soldier of Love" album. The shot of Tavi and her laptop is my favorite, for the creative lighting factor. Ton would have metered for the laptop screen's available light and not used a strobe. This would have required a higher ISO and maybe even a tripod. It's a shot I intend to recreate at some point.

Date: 2010-02-14 03:47 am (UTC)If you mean the first, that is intentional; I set my white balance to reproduce a true color cast instead of a yellow one. Also, the lightbulbs in my bedroom are full spectrum, not tungsten, so that cuts down the yellow.
If you mean the second, that is unintentional. :-)
