Autumn's Redeeming Qualities

I am a warm-weather person and prefer heat/humidity over cold, dry air. But there are some things about the cooling weather which I enjoy.

• Steaming mugs of hot chocolate or herbal tea.


• Heated waterbed mattresses.


• Thick quilts pulled up to my neck.


• Fleece, fleece and more fleece!


• Almost-too-hot baths with peppermint soap in the water...and someone to scrub my back.

I shall now don fleece and go out to BJs. Yesterday's laundry took four hours to tame, and by the time I was through, I didn't have the energy to go across town. Tomorrow I am working, so I'll get this done today and savor the satisfaction that comes from taking care of business. And I just remembered I need to make a trip into Manhattan to pick up a print for someone!

Not a heat lover myself. I'll take cool, crisp weather (not cold) and I love warm drinks on those cool days.

It's amusing that whenever I mention how my body functions far better in the heat, people who do not love the heat make it a point to say so. My mother does the same thing when I bemoan approaching winter in her presence.

I like the "swing" seasons of fall and spring (more fall) than either summer or winter. I don't like it too hot or too cold. Guess I'm kind of like Goldilocks when it comes to weather!

mmm... it's not getting very cold here, this being San Diego, but the evenings are chilly enough for hot chocolate, and I love it!
