Very pretty! Do you know what type of flower they were? Crapemyrtle? Hydrangea? My mom has oodles of crapemyrtles and they're easy to tend to, and very pretty. With color variations too - pink, white, yellow, purple... :)
It's hard to tell what you have in this picture--I think it may be the world's largest azalea bush. Where is this house located? Bougainvillea lives in pretty warm climates-- and it's awesome. Looks like this: http://www.google.com/images?q=bougainvillea&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&um=1&ie=UTF-8&source=og&sa=N&hl=en&tab=wi The colorful bits aren't actually flowers; they are leaves! Only the little white bits at the center are flowers.
Definitely not bougainvillea then! Probably azalea. Although, IIRC, there is actually a shrub that has bright red leaves like that.... no idea what it's called, though.

Date: 2010-05-04 06:10 am (UTC)I live in San Diego, where we have bougainvillea as our most colorful landscaping plant. I want a house with LOTS of it. In several colors.
