Experimenting with Levels

leepak, remember when we talked about levels and curves yesterday? I found an online tutorial on levels and figured out it is the same as what Arcsoft Photostudio calls "Tone Adjustment". Look what levels can do for you. This is one of my koi photos as the camera recorded it:

After decreasing the highlight levels and increasing the shadow levels, this is the same photograph:

Amazing, isn't it? Look at the vibrant colors! And I didn't even touch unsharp mask or the saturation. Give me a call when you get a chance, and I'll walk you through doing it.

I can do this on my own but I have one question. Did you use Curves or did you manually alter the shadows and highlights?
